For your convenience, I have listed all the scriptures used in this episode below. You may find it helpful to have this page open while you listen.

NASB Proverbs 10:1b A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.

NIV  Proverbs 11:29 Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise.

NIV Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.  (Talk about how fools avoid the wise, and don’t want to get to know them.)

NIV Proverbs 10:21 The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of sense.

NIV Proverbs 10:18 The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.

ESV Proverbs 14:17 A man of quick temper acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated.

ESV Proverbs 12:16 The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.
NIV Proverbs 12:16 Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.

The prudent can decouple from it—from the emotional impact of the offense—they can set that aside and get past it.  But the fool is consumed by the offense—controlled by his own emotional response to it.

Proverbs 19:11 A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.

NIV Proverbs 14:7 Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.

ESV  Proverbs 14:3 By the mouth of a fool comes a rod for his back, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.

ESV Proverbs 10:8 The wise of heart will receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.

ESV Proverbs 13:16 Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly.
NIV Proverbs 13:16 All who are prudent act with[b] knowledge, but fools expose their folly.  (Footnote says “protect themselves with”)

NIV Proverbs 10:18 Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool.

NIV Proverbs 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.  Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright.

NIV Proverbs 10:23 A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes, but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.
ESV Proverbs 10:23 Doing wrong is like a joke to a fool, but wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding.
YLT Proverbs 10:23 To execute inventions [is] as play to a fool, And wisdom to a man of understanding.

ESV Proverbs 3:35 The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace.
